The National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA), Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD)North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission (NCWRC)South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, and Rock Hill Police Department worked together to conduct the second-ever Seated Battery of Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST) training for highway safety professionals in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

39 officers from 27 agencies across three states attended this historic event. Participation was limited to experienced Drug Recognition Experts (DREs) and standing SFST Instructors who recognize that not all impaired drivers can complete the walk-and-turn and one-leg stand tests roadside. Training these highway safety professionals who are the recognized impaired driving experts in their states will show the courts and public that the seated SFSTs are neither new nor novel. This will make the maritime professionals' job of introducing these tests in court significantly easier.
