Mississippi names new Boating Law Administrator
Major Chris Clark - MS

The National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) would like to welcome Major Chris Clark, the new Boating Law Administrator (BLA) for the state of Mississippi.

Major Chris Clark joined the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, & Parks (MDWFP) in 2003. He began his career as a Game Warden in Kemper County for two years and then moved to Winston County where he served approximately 11 years. Clark was promoted to Lieutenant as a Boating Coordinator in 2016 and directed 16 counties in boating education, the dangers of boating under the influence, and boating incident investigations. In 2020, Clark was named Captain over Law Enforcement for those same 16 counties. He managed three Lieutenants and 21 officers throughout east central Mississippi.

In May of 2023, Clark was promoted to Major over Boating and Hunting Education, as well as named the BLA for the state. Major Clark manages a team of six to provide training for field officers and work alongside officers in their enforcement and education efforts. Their duties include training new officers at the training academy, investigating boating and hunting fatalities, investigating boat theft, training volunteer instructors, working educational events and classes, and much more.

Since his most recent promotion, Major Clark has become a board member of the International Hunter Education Association (IHEA) representing 12 states in the Southeastern Region. With Major Clark’s background in law enforcement, education, and investigations, he strives to be a vital asset for MDWFP, his fellow officers, and each program.
