Applicants Sought for the National Boating Standards Panel
The
National Boating Standards Panel is accepting new Panel member applications for a term to begin in January 2024. Members of the Panel serve a three-year term and belong to one of five interest categories represented on the Panel. The categories include: commercial, non-governmental/nonprofit organization, federal boating agency, state boating agency, and public.
The objective of the Standards Panel is to identify and implement a consensus-based process in conformance with ANSI Essential Requirements for the purposes of reviewing, developing, revising, and promulgating knowledge and competency standards for the recreational boater and boating professionals working with or on behalf of the recreational boating community, along with other boating standards approved to be developed by the NASBLA Executive Board. Currently, the Panel is developing a standard pertaining to K-12 Life Jacket Education.
Interested individuals should submit their resume, along with a letter of interest detailing their name, organization (if any), potential interest category, and expertise and interest in the work associated with the Panel’s objectives.
