NASBLA Hosts Dual Events: 2024 State RBS Workshop and Inaugural Education Seminar
State agency representatives, including boating law administrators, education coordinators, and enforcement coordinators, attended the
2024 NASBLA State Recreational Boating Safety (RBS) Workshop, along with members of the U.S. Coast Guard. This group of recreational boating safety professionals gathered in Lexington, Kentucky, on March 12 - 13 to discuss current programs and trends in boating safety. Representatives from 49 states were present at the Workshop. Presentations were given on the topics of state grant programs, first responder training, NASBLA projects and programs, efforts from the towed watersports industry to promote safe boating, and much more.
Following the State RBS Workshop, NASBLA conducted its first-ever
Education Seminar in Lexington, Kentucky, from March 15 - 16. The Seminar, a day-and-a-half event for recreational boating safety education professionals, provided hands-on learning opportunities covering topics such as towed watersports education, life jackets, outreach and education activities, and social media marketing. Representatives from 30 states were present at this inaugural event.
