This month’s feature focuses on Michelle Johnston with the Utah Division of Motor Vehicles.Michelle Johnston is the Supervisor for the Utah Division of Motor Vehicles and is a member of the NASBLA Vessel, Identification, Registration & Tilting (VIRT) Committee. Michelle is one of only two Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) state members that are represented on the VIRT committee, along with the state of Indiana, out of the 13 state members that were represented on the committee in 2022. The remaining 11 state members represented on the committee are located within their respective departments.Michelle provides valuable insight for the committee from a state DMV perspective when it comes to registration & titling of recreational vessels through a DMV state versus a state that registers & titles within the respective state department. Michelle was a key contributor to VIRT this year as a Charge Leader for one charge and participated as a team member in three additional charges for 2022. It is great interacting with people from all walks of life. We can all learn something from each other.
